Become a Member

The association dedicated to promoting and protecting the work of professional entertainment agents in Great Britain

You are in good company

We are proud to say that many of the leading entertainment agents are already members of The Entertainment Agents’ Association (TEAA). By joining, you become part of the network and your membership enables you to turn to the Association for advice, guidance and to ask for help with any issues you may experience as an entertainment agent.

We work closely with Equity and we are active members of the Variety and Light Entertainment Council and UK Live Music Group. A representative from TEAA Council attends their meetings to represent our members’ interests. Our input plays an important role when helping to formulate policies, for ongoing dialogue with the Department of Culture Media and Sport and for lobbying government for the benefit of the entertainment industry.

Why become a member

By joining the association, you will be able to check your business is conforming to current legal requirements. We can help with artist contracts, ongoing changes in legislation, terms of business and legal matters, as well as trends and issues facing the entertainment industry. You can join regional meetings, national conference calls and network with fellow member agents.

There are opportunities to network, to broaden your contacts of fellow agents, enabling business to flow more freely between members. You will be kept up to date with current legislation and news. You will be able to share best practice with some of the leading entertainment agents in England, Scotland and Wales and you can rest assured that The Entertainment Agents’ Association is always here to help.

Become a member of The Entertainment Agents’ Association

Annual membership subscription - £265 + VAT

To become a member you need to:

  • understand and adhere to the current UK law of how to operate an agency business. Visit Government Law
  • have a separate client bank account
  • have registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)

Following your initial application, you will be contacted by a member of council to discuss your agency, how you do business, who you represent and in what areas of the entertainment industry you work.

We also need to ensure that you are trading in line with our Code of Conduct. Your application will then be considered at the next council meeting and approval will either be granted or denied. If your application is accepted, you will be awarded full or associate membership based on your level of experience.

Associate membership (same annual fee as full membership), is designated by council if, for instance, you are a new agent and have not been trading for long. After one year as an associate member, if you have traded responsibly, one member from the association will propose you for full membership and a second member needs to support that proposal. The council will then take a vote on your request to become a full member at the next council meeting. Associate members are granted the same access as full members to all documentation, events and advice.

All new members will receive a welcome pack.

If your application is denied, you will be notified of the reasons why by our administrator and your membership fee will be returned.

If, following an internal investigation, any member is proven to be in breach of the Code of Conduct, The Entertainment Agents’ Association reserves the right to terminate membership immediately and no monies will be returned for the remainder of that year.
